Commentary on the Qur’an fur the Non Muslim.3

﴿لا يَسْخَرْ قَومٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ﴾ سورة الحجرات ٤٩/١

let not (one) people laugh at (another) people

誰かの欠点を見つけるということは、自分自身にも同じ欠点があるということです。 他人を通して自分の中にあるものを見ているいのです。 他人は自分の姿を映し出す鏡だと思いなさい。 相手の欠点を自分の欠点として認識し、それを直そうと試みてください。 それが難しいと感じるなら、まさに貴方は自分の欠点に苦しみ、それを他人に投影しているのです。

[Japanese literal translation]
So that one does not laugh at others.
[Japanese annotation]
To find fault with someone is to find the same fault in yourself. We see what is in ourselves through others. Think of others as mirrors reflecting your own reflection. Recognize their faults as your own and try to fix them. If you find it difficult to do so, you are suffering from your own faults and projecting them onto others.
【Japanese proverb with a similar meaning】
A person is a mirror of another person.
The words and actions of others are like reflecting yourself in a mirror.
The less considerate you are, the more you demand consideration from others. Are your words and actions hurting others? First of all, think about yourself.
Strength is not a strong body, but a strong mind that is capable of self-discipline.
