定命とは「この世のすべての物事はAllahによって創造され、その未来も定められる」という意味です。これはMuslimの信じる六信の一つです。
そもそもイスラムとは「神にすべてを委ねる」「神に帰依する」という意味です。このことからも解るように、全知全能の神【Allah】がこの世のすべてを決め、人間はそれに従うのみ、これがイスラム基本的な考え方です。
Inshallah
「Inshallah」を日本語で訳すと「神の思し召し」がそれに値します。
先にも申し上げた通り、イスラムでは未来もすべてAllahが決めます。そのため、未来のことを述べるときには、必ず「Inshallah」を付け加えて話すことになっています。
これは人間の力ではどうすることもできない「不測の事態」をさします。
例えば、目的地に向かう途中の突発的な事故・荒天などの自然災害などです。
決して失敗しても、約束を破っても、すべて神の思し召しということではありません。
「自分自身で出来ることはしっかりと行う。それでも、時にどうすることもできないこともある。」という意味であり、なんでも自分達の思い通りにしようとする人間たちへの戒め、神の力の前では人間は小さな存在であるという教えです。
定命の考えが、苦しみや悲しみを軽減する
イスラムではクルアーンで自殺を禁じています。禁じられているせいもありますが、Muslimの自殺は極めて少ないと言われています。
思い悩んだ上に、自分の過ちを苦にして自殺する･･･これが自殺の要因のひとつですが、Muslimは必要以上に自分を責めません。
なぜなら、努力を重ねて、それでもうまくいかなかったら、その結果はAllahがお決めになったこと、と考えるからです。
努力は無駄とか怠惰であっても良いというわけではありません。私達人間の力には限界があるということです。
この考え方が、自分自身を必要以上に責めることをやめ、苦しみや悲しみを軽減し、心に安らぎやゆとりを与えているのです。
Destiny qadar
Destiny means “all things in this world were created by Allah and their futures are determined”. This is one of the six beliefs of Muslims.
Islam basically means to surrender everything to God or to submit to God. As you can see from this, the omniscient and omnipotent God [Allah] decides everything in this world, and humans only follow it, which is the basic idea of Islam.
Inshallah
The Japanese translation of “Inshallah” is “God Willing”. As I said earlier, in Islam, Allah decides the future. Therefore, when we talk about the future, we always add “Inshallah”. This refers to “unforeseen circumstances” that are beyond human control. For example, sudden accidents on the way to the destination, natural disasters such as stormy weather, etc.
Failures and broken promises are not all God’s will. It means, “Do what you can do by yourself, but there are times when you cannot do anything.” is a small existence.
The concept of fate reduces suffering and sorrow
In Islam the Quran forbids suicide. Partly because it is prohibited, suicide among Muslims is said to be extremely rare. Worrying over one’s own mistakes and committing suicide… This is one of the reasons for suicide, but Muslims do not blame themselves more than necessary. Because if you try hard and it still doesn’t work, the result will be decided by Allah. Efforts are not necessarily wasted or lazy. There is a limit to our human power. This way of thinking helps us stop blaming ourselves more than necessary, reduces suffering and sorrow, and gives us peace of mind.
