日本では新年を迎えました。
新年の挨拶、アラビア語では「كل عام وأنيم بخير（クッル・サナ・ワ・アントゥム・ビハイル）」
といいます。
ただし、イスラム教の新年は西暦の正月とは異なります。イスラム暦の正月は「ムハッラム」月の初日です。アラビア新年またはヒジュラ新年とも呼ばれます。その日は、休日ではありますが、日本のようなお祝い事はありません。
イスラムの新年には、ムスリム達はモスクを訪れ、互いの繁栄を祈り、家族や彼らに最も近い人々と一緒に時間を過ごします。
サウジアラビアのジェッダでは新年の朝、新鮮な牛乳を飲む習慣があります。新しい1年を牛乳のように白く（清廉潔白）でいられるようにという願いが込められているそうです。
その後、日中、彼らは今年の残りの部分が祝福されることを祈願して、緑の食べ物を食します。緑はイスラムでは神聖な色とされています。
日本のお正月にあたるようなイスラム行事と言えば、イード・ル・フィトル、イード・ル・アドハーという２つの大祭があげられます。
その際の祝いの言葉は「イード・ムバーラク」です。
この言葉には「アッラーからの恩寵」と訳される「バラカ」を授かるというような意味合いがあります。
The New Year has begun in Japan.
New Year’s greetings, كل عام وأنيم بخير (Khul Sana wa Antum Bihail) in Arabic.
However, the Islamic New Year is different from the New Year of the Spirits. The Islamic New Year is the first day of the month “Muharram”. It is also called Arabic New Year or Hijra New Year. This day is a national holiday, but there is no celebration like in Japan.
On the Islamic New Year, Muslims visit mosques, pray for each other’s prosperity, and spend time with their families.
In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, it is customary to drink fresh milk on New Year’s morning. It is said to express the wish that the new year will be as white (clean and pure) as milk.
After that, they eat green food during the day and pray for blessings for the year ahead. In Islam, green is considered a sacred color.
The two major Islamic festivals, Eid le Fitr and Eid le Adha, are the equivalent of the Japanese New Year.
The word for celebration is “Eid Mubarak.”
This word means “baraka” and is translated as “Grace from Allah.”
